Hello and thank you for visiting our website,
As our vision states, Exeter Primary School is focussed on providing  a learning environment of the very highest quality possible to create a community of life-long learners. We support children’s engagement with the learning experiences required to achieve continuous improvements in learning outcomes.
Our school is located in the rural community of Exeter in northern Tasmania. It’s history began in 1909 when the first school in the area was established on land that was once an orchard.  The main building in our current school was built in 1940, with extensions occurring regularly as the school population continued to grow.  The Building the Education Revolution funding saw the construction of a school hall which will serve our school and community as a Performing Arts complex and as a meeting place.
Our core values of achievement, connectedness, creativity, equity, integrity, resilience and responsibility align with our vision to provide a learning environment of the very highest quality and to create a community of life-long learners.   In the emphasis we place on literacy, numeracy and positive behaviour, we support our students to be the best they can be.
Our school-wide expectations of ‘be safe, be your best, care for the rest’ can be seen in our interactions around our school, and enable all members of our school community to work towards our purpose of helping our students:
  • to relate, participate and care for each other
  • to live ethically
  • to live full, healthy lives
  • to create purposeful futures and contribute to the development of a better world
  • to think, know and understand.
Our school programs deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs from birth to four in the 'Launching into Learning' initiative (with our Books ‘n’ Bubs, ABC Magic and B4 School playgroup programs), and from Kindergarten to Year 6 within the Tasmanian Curriculum Framework.  Additionally, our students have regular access as part of their learning program to specialist learning in Music, Physical Education and LOTE, ICT through two computer labs and computers in their classrooms, a well-equipped library, an indoor solar-heated pool, and an Outdoor Classroom where our students learn about science concepts and health and wellbeing by planting, caring for, and cooking with fruit, vegetables and herbs.

If you would like further information about our school when you finish your journey of our website please contact us.
Kind regards,
Alison Brooks
